We win! FactCheck.org Gets International Recognition
By Brooks Jackson
We're pleased to learn that FactCheck.org was the top vote-getter among nominees for the "The Top 10 Who are Changing the World of Internet and Politics" award for 2006. A formal announcement was posted Oct. 23 by the PoliticsOnline website, which sponsors the award jointly with the World E-Gov Forum.
In recognition, FactCheck.org was also awarded the "Trophée International PoliticsOnline" at a ceremony in Issy Moulineaux, near Paris, France. None of us could be present due to the workload created by the approaching mid-term election. The award was accepted for us by our friend Deborah Stinnett, business manager of the Annenberg Public Policy Center.
We thank the FactCheck.org subscribers who responded to our email by voting for us at the PoliticsOnline website. It's nice to be recognized, but even better to know that so many of our readers appreciate what we do.
